Meet the principals of KH Engineering Group

Kathy Hagen

Kathy Hagen is a registered professional engineer with more than 23 years of structural engineering design experience in steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, aluminum and wood structures.  Kathy has extensive experience in the preparation, submittal and approval of construction documents and specifications.  Kathy has been involved in all aspects of the design and construction process.  Kathy has worked with both private and public clients.

Prior to founding KH Engineering Group in January 2004, Kathy worked for two top ten architectural engineering firms in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the Kansas City metropolitan area.  Kathy has worked at AE, EA and structural firms, bringing her insight into these disciplines and empathy for their concerns.

Kathy is a structural engineer characterized by her impeccable communication skills and the high quality of design she provides.

Marcia Bolton

Marcia Bolton is a registered professional engineer with more than 18 years of structural engineering design experience in steel, concrete, precast, wood and masonry structures.  Marcia has served as a team leader and project manager for over ten years.

Marcia has served as engineer of record for numerous projects, including a seventeen story office building and associated 6 level underground parking garage.  She has also designed a multitude of commercial, education, office, dining and residential structures that range from new construction to renovation of existing structures.

Marcia collaborates with architects, owners and other team members during design to provide coordinated documents for bid and construction.  She also provides practical and timely solutions to contractors for any problems that occur during construction.

Jeff Jurgensmeyer

Jeff Jurgensmeyer is a registered professional engineer with more than 13 years of structural engineering design experience in steel, concrete, and masonry.  Jeff has served as staff engineer and resident structural engineer on various projects.

Jeff’s experience includes preparation, approval, and submittal of construction documents and specifications as well as performing on-site construction assistance.  Jeff has worked on several $100+ million construction projects and understands the value of teamwork within the design team and timeliness of response with construction issues.

Jeff is a structural engineer characterized by his ability to be a team player and by his desire to produce a high quality and economical design.  In addition to his large project portfolio, Jeff brings the the same passion for details and thoroughness to smaller projects.

Andy Maynard

Andy Maynard is a registered professional engineer with more than 23 years of special inspection and structural engineering design experience in steel, concrete, precast, wood and masonry structures.  Andy has been the special inspector of record on many projects in the Kansas City area.  Andy's structural expertise is critical in the inspection of complex structures -  particularly seismic retrofit and force protection of existing structures.

Andy has served as design engineer of record for many projects including numerous educational structures.  In addition, Andy has surveyed existing buildings for institutions and private property owners.  This structural survey is performed to proactively identify potential problems before they become large structural issues.
